The 3rd Annual, Bond Brothers 5k, is taking place on September 28th. Due to the tremendous success of the first two events, we wanted to partner with Bond Brothers and other sponsors of the run, to make this year’s event an even better experience.
We’ve secured the up and coming bluegrass foursome, ShadowGrass, to play two sets following the awards ceremony. Along with a race medal, bib, t-shirt and swag bag, you’ll be treated to a beer on the house, that you can enjoy while listening to these guys pick!
The L.O.V.E SHOW is a music entertainment experience, and online platform featuring famous love songs, unique ballads, spoken word, comedy, and visual art creating a romantic and memorable, heart touching experience, that will make you smile and feel the love.
The crowds came out to the Downtown Cary Food and Flea, Sunday afternoon. There was live music, food, ice cream, coffee, beer, and local vendors of all kinds. There was even a dog and a cat, sharing a wagon. Enjoy these pictures from the event.
It’s about meeting people where they are in their wellness journey and providing a safe, fun, encouraging environment. Come as you are, and leave feeling better than when you walked in the door. Fostering a community and building relationships is just as important as the workout. Some days a mental break, and laughing, is more important than how fast you ran or what weight you lifted.
At the end of the day, and with all scores tabulated, Cary Park came out on top as the meet’s 2019 champion. Receiving the MVP award for the meet, was Caroline Holliday of the Scottish Hills swim team. A special congratulations to one of Cary Swim Club’s swimmers, Kaylee Bohinc, for receiving the runner-up MVP award. Thanks again to all who came out and made it a wonderful event. Thanks to the volunteers, especially. See everyone next year.
Downtown Cary resident, Melissa Hall, spoke with The Pāpur about her business, Emergence Bioenergetics, and her new office location, just blocks away from home.
Melissa’s new office is located in the Heater Office Building on Dry Ave. Fortunately, she says, the right space opened at the right time, to move her practice from Downtown Apex to Downtown Cary.
A big advocate of living green, being outdoors, and eating locally grown produce, she loves being able to walk three blocks from her home, to the office.
The summer swimming season is almost over, with the final meet happening next Tuesday night. However, the summer is never quite complete without a meet against cross town foes, Scottish Hills.
The Cary Imps travelled across town, to visit the Wellsley Wave, and walked away with an improved record of 2-2. Although it was blistering hot, this Fourth of July themed meet, didn’t disappoint. Of course, half the fun happens in the pool, and the other half happens on the sidelines. While it was a sea of blue and green in the pool, it was nothing but red, white, and blue everywhere else. Next week, the team stays on the road to face the Scottish Hills Sea Lions in a hyperlocal turf war, bound to be a battle to the end.
In what turned out to be another beautiful summer day in Cary, the kids and parents were treated to a very competitive contest. After leading for most of the event, the Imps were outlasted by the Otters, who staged a comeback in the late night swims.
The night started off with a hero themed costume contest for the kids, emceed by Steve Daniels of ABC 11. Daniels also took time to highlight the story of Sgt. Yeager, a dog and war veteran who lost his handler in battle.
The Imps and their families were treated wonderfully on this Superhero themed night. From the ice cream truck, to the large playground outside the pool, to the all-night dance party (i.e. Cupid Shuffle, Macarena, Old Town Road, YMCA, Wobble, etc.), Scotts Mill was an awesome host.
Last night was Cary Swim Club’s first swim meet of the 2019 season, hosting the Weatherstone Sharks from right down the road, in Cary. The weather was great, the burgers and dogs were grilling, and everyone in attendance experienced a great night of family fun!
When Leslie Douglas (owner of Douglas Realty Group in Downtown Cary) posted on Facebook, that she was inviting her clients out for the 2nd Annual Client Appreciation Event, RSVP’s immediately started for the 140 tickets available. After last year’s big turnout, Douglas wanted to make sure this year’s event was even better, also purchasing “all you can eat” wristbands and parking passes for her guests. Regarding the costs to host the outing, Leslie Douglas said, “We spare no expense when it comes to showing our clients a great time. This is a wonderful event us to say ‘thank you’ to the ones who support Douglas Realty Group, with their business and their referrals.”
