Cotton House’s Wildly Successful Fall Fest - Backyard Party
If you weren’t there for this year’s Fall Fest Backyard Party at Cotton House, you better go ahead and put it on the calendar for next year, because this is sure to be an annual favorite in Downtown Cary.
Following Hurricane Dorian, the weather was nearly perfect for the all day bash. From noon to midnight, the crowd got bigger…and bigger…and bigger.
There were several food trucks.
Lots of tail waggers…
Throughout the day, there were several cheers, as crowds gathered around the ax throwing cage to see the occasional bullseye.
Four live musical performances, were capped off by the Hogslop String Band out of Nashville, TN. These guys had the crowd on its feet for the last hour, dancing, laughing, and having a good old time.

Sunday night at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, eight artists came together for the North Carolina Songwriters in the Round, hosted by Jason Adamo. If you’ve never been to a songwriter’s round (it was our first), the format was pretty cool. Divided into two sets, with four artists in each one, the performers took turns playing their own music, beginning each song with a story that connected the audience with the inspiration and meaning.
